These past few years we’ve seen airport security being tightened alot. This is on part due to recent terrorist attacks. Some examples are the Twin Towers incident (USA – 09/11-01), the bombs in Bali (Indonesia – 10/12-02), bombs on commuter trains in Madrid (Spain – 03/11-04) and the situation with the hostages in Beslan (Russia – 09/01-04). The incidents I have listed are the ‘major’ ones in the time after 09/11, and have all served to make politicians and law-makers around the world see that something had to be done about security.
Today I set out to configure another simple jail, and ran into some problems when doing the usual ‘cd /usr/local/ports/lang/php5-extensions && make install’.
The past week has been busy for me. Been working 18+ hours a day, and getting too little time to just sit down and do nothing (and sleep for that matter). It’s not that I mind working (in fact I love that part), but people have started complaining. And since the reason they complain is that I work too much, then I can’t really tell them to “contact me when I’m not working”. Can I?
More and more often I’ve discovered that I lack things to talk about when socializing. I usually have enough things to talk about, but the last couple of weeks has provided bigger and bigger gaps in conversations. Not that I absolutely need to talk all the time, but it would be nice to have at least some conversations that are not based on trivial matters.
So, this week didn’t start out the way I would like them to. Mondays will always be mondays, but not all mondays begin with the following words in an email to you:
